Climate Action is a Necessity

It seems like every time we turn around, there's another challenge Mother Nature presents us with. From hurricanes to flooding, wildfires, and earthquakes, one might wonder, "What's next?" These events underscore the undeniable impacts of climate change, with California experiencing its effects more than ever.

Recently, an earthquake struck alarmingly close to home. The aftermath left visible reminders, with cracks encircling my pool and potential structural damage elsewhere. This, coming on the heels of the heartbreaking decision to remove my cherished avocado trees due to water restrictions just a few weeks ago, has been a stark reminder of the collective impact of humankind’s indelible footprint on the earth.

Climate action is not a luxury. It is a necessity. While it is easy to become numb in the face of hardships, or to feel helpless while pointing fingers at governments, industries, and corporations, there are also steps we can take as individuals to reduce our carbon footprints. I was especially inspired by this informative article by Kate Selig and Emily Guskin of The Washington Post, on what we’re doing wrong (and what we can improve) to combat climate change on an individual level. https://lnkd.in/gRYzrAqJ

I hope you find this article as informative and inspiring as I did. Stay safe, stay strong, and let's not forget to support one another during these challenging times.
